Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Can I autoclave conventional laryngoscope blades?

A: Yes, the stainless steel blades are fully autoclavable. However, it is essential to unscrew and remove the light bulb before placing the blade in the autoclave to prevent the heat and pressure from damaging the filament.

Q: Why is my laryngoscope light flickering?

A: Flickering is usually caused by one of three things: a loose bulb, oxidized contact points on the handle "hook," or low batteries. We recommend checking that the bulb is screwed in tightly before every procedure.

Q: Are the bulbs easy to replace?

A: Very easy. Our bulbs are standard sizes (Small/Large) and can be replaced in seconds without specialized tools. We recommend keeping a pack of 5 spare bulbs in your surgery drawer to ensure you are never without light.

Q: Does this handle fit my Fiber Optic (Green System) blades?

A: No. Conventional handles are only compatible with conventional blades. The locking base of a "Green System" fiber optic blade is a different shape and will not fit a standard conventional handle.
